When Microsoft released CRM 2013 and the “re-imagined user experience”, there was mixed feedback with the new top driven, tiled navigation design. It was tough to drill down the menu tree; plus if you added custom entities and solutions to the product, the horizontal navigation was really cumbersome.
You can always tell when Microsoft hasn’t quite refined a feature well enough when resourceful constituents design add-ons to improve them. Think of all the search solutions that have been derived over the years up until this last release that FINALLY introduced multi-entity search (still not perfect but a long time coming!).
Well, navigation solutions like EasyNavigate and QuickView have been augmenting Dynamics CRM implementations almost since the day the new UI for 2013 was launched.
With the upcoming Spring Wave release for CRM 2015, you can now get out your boards and catch a bomb without the concern of being axed.
The main role-based tiles have a new design, but more importantly the always confusing and misunderstood Workplace tile has been removed. Can I get a roar from the crowd?
But the main improvement to the experience comes when you select one of the main navigation tiles– for instance Sales– and explore the entities contained therein. Voila! The stars become aligned and the universe is laid out before your eyes.
Navigating a CRM application easily is one of the first steps toward getting users on board with the tool and adopting it. Congrats to the design team at Microsoft for making our adoption quest one more notch easier with this re-design.
Now go wax your board and be ready to ride the Spring Wave when it hits your organization!
